As part of WCPO and Scripps Washington Bureau's ongoing joint investigation into allegations of misconduct at the Cincinnati VA, whistleblowers at Cincinnati's VA Medical Center answer veterans and community members' questions at the Sharonville VFW.
I am a Marine Veteran, but also an economist. Can any of the "whistleblowers" explain to me why some procedures shouldn't be outsourced to other hospitals? It seems like it would be foolish to expect the VA to have state of the art facilities and full staffing for every specialty if there is no economy of scale. No other hospitals do that, why would we expect it of the VA. Are you suggesting that care received outside of the VA, such as UC, is inadequate compared to the VA?
