Hi, Carol! Adam Marshall told me that I'm your Dayton counterpart. I've worked at WHIO-TV since 1981 and I've been anchoring the main shows since 1991. I've heard many great things about you over the years. In fact, I distinctly remember the woman who preceded me on the anchor desk, Deborah Countiss, saying she was a big Carol Williams fan! I wish you the best in your retirement. Let me know how it goes! I may have to try it out for myself some day!
by Cheryl McHenry3/1/2017 5:56:29 PM
My earliest memories of watching the news included Clyde and Carol. I was sad when Clyde retired and am likewise sad to see Carol go, but appreciate all of the work she did to bring us the news. Best of luck to Carol in her retirement!

You are the best Carol. Everything I like in an anchor...sense of humor, good-looking, cool under pressure! We will miss you from the airwaves. I'm happy for you, as you move on to life after television. It's pretty good! Laure Quinlivan

Carol, I have been a big fan of 9news since I moved here in 1995. You are a major reason for that; you and Clyde were a real team but you have blended very well with ever anchor since he retired. You have always be a 'class act' and I appreciate your approach to reporting. I will miss you and the way you report the news. Possibly you could improve the manner of a couple of others in other areas while you're there for the next couple of days. :) Have a wonderful retirement!!! Best of luck! Thanks for be a dedicated person and a class act!

Carol always made me feel like she genuinely cared about the city and the stories she reported unlike some who seem so robotic. She will be missed.

Carol: when I found out you were retiring I pulled out my scrap book and reflected on an article I had kept from Cincinnati Woman magazine-Feb.1998 featuring you on the cover and a great story of your broadcasting career. You blended with everyone at channel 9-wcpo as well as with the communities in Cincinnati. Take time to reflect, shed a tear and continue to smile as gracious as you do!

Almost 26 years ago my sister, Carol Rowan was killed in a boating accident near Ripley, Ohio. On the boat with her was her husband, Bill, and her daughter, Shannon who was only 11 years old. Too young to lose a mother as well as being involved in such an horrific accident. The reason I am writing this is because Shannon who watched some, but not all of the news on the accident kept asking why no one mentioned her mother. Her dad was burned over 2/3rds of his body with his lower 1/3 3rd degree burns. He was not expected to live, but thank God he did. I contacted all the local news station asking if they would just mention her mother's name. She needed to hear that name included with all the others that were on the boat. It was something that seemed so important to her. You and Ch 9 were the 'only' station that did mention Carol's name and Shannon heard your short story. That was all that she needed at the time. Just to hear her mon's name. So, thank you so much for being that one person/news anchor who showed some concern for a little girl's need to just hear you say her mother's name, What a difference that made! From then on, Ch 9 has been my main station to watch, especially when the news was on. One single act may not seem all that important but it certainly made a difference in one child's life. Again, Thank You! Best wishes on your retirement. Enjoy it for a long, long time.

Carol, you began your Cincinnati legacy the same year I moved to SW Ohio from Columbus. I'm sure you have been reminiscing about the myriad changes you've witnessed and been a part of in your professional life, your personal life, and in the city, nation, and world over the past 30 years. How amazing, fascinating, humbling, and probably sometimes frightening to have had a ringside seat!
Thank you for your continued professionalism, your personal touch in reporting, and your high standard of journalism throughout the years. It's been a privilege for the Tri-State to have been your audience for all that time.
I was forced into retirement by a medical condition in 2012, but after I accepted the fact, I've been busier than before retirement! I hope you can do everything that you want to do in the future. You have been a blessing to your audience and you deserve to be blessed.
Again, many many thanks, and best wishes for many years ahead.

When I was young, we didn't have the internet or 200 cable channels to choose from and Al Schottelkotte held my attention from age 5. Not long after he retired, you carried the torch for all cincinnatians. You will be missed and no one can replace you.

Congratulations on your retirement! I live in VA and when I would come over to Middletown to visit family and would try to watch WKRC and WLWT, WCPO became my favorite source for news and when I got my first IPAD I knew WCPO was a necessity. You will be missed at WCPO and I know I'll miss seeing you on the news!
