Jan 10, 2016Cincinnati has a vested interest in how well "Carol," the movie about lesbian lovers played by Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, does at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards this Sunday. The movie, directed by Todd Haynes and produced by Killer Films, filmed here in the Tri-State in 2014. "Carol" is up for five awards. They include Blanchett and Mara for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture; Best Drama; Haynes for Best Director of a Motion Picture; and Best Original Score. The movie's critical success has also created increased buzz for Cincinnati as a filmmaking destination. Sunday's awards are also a fare gauge for how "Carol" could be received by the Academy Awards, who will announce its Oscar nominations on Jan. 14. The Academy Awards ceremony airs Feb. 28 on WCPO Channel 9.

Rowan County, KY Clerk appears in U.S. District Court
Sep 3, 2015Rowan County, Ky. Clerk Kim Davis is scheduled to appear before U.S. District Judge David Bunning in federal court at 11 a.m. in Ashland, Ky. for a contempt of court hearing.
